Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver most often caused by any of three different viruses: hepatitis A, B, or C. In an effort to increase vaccinations, Seattle/King County Public Health launched an ongoing advertising campaign in 2000 which targets gay and bisexual men - a group disproportionately affected by Hepatitis A and B.
With appealing and powerful branding, this ad campaign which was comprised of metro transit bus ads, outreach pamphlets, posters, and t-shirts resulted in an increase of 22% in Hepatitis A vaccinations, and an increase of 13.9% in Hepatitis B vaccinations among the target audience after only six months.
